“ A MOTHER’S EDUCATION LEVEL IMPACTS HER CHILDREN “

A mother’s education level impacts her child’s life beyond the hard facts of economics, academics, and health. This impact goes into three categories: Human, Social and Cultural capital. (Harding, Morris and Hughes, 2015).

SANA FOUNDATION MISSION

We offer 4-year advanced education scholarships to qualifying young Palestinian women in Israel. By enabling access to higher education for young women, Sana Foundation scholarships contribute to independent socio-economic growth opportunity for the Palestinian population.

OUR VISION

Empowered Palestinian women in Israel thrive and inspire future generations in an environment that offers unrestricted access to higher education, in fulfillment of their ambitions.

WHY THE SANA FOUNDATION..?

The Palestinian population in Israel is a vulnerable minority with many families facing economic hardship. Stuck in what researchers called a “poverty trap”, unemployment is high and socio-economic growth is stagnant. Young women are particularly affected. They often have to forget about their dreams for higher education and commit to domestic duties at a young age. That’s where SANA FOUNDATION scholarships offer help. Young Palestinian women in Israel are given an opportunity to follow higher education supported by the Sana Foundation.

PLANTING SEEDS OF PROSPERITY

Research shows that education of young mothers is a major influence on socio-economic growth and a significant factor in helping children reach their full potential. Education is like a seed that continues to grow.

SANA FOUNDATION STUDENTS RECEIVE AND GIVE...

All SANA FOUNDATION students commit to performing non-paid volunteer work in support of the community during the time that they receive a SANA FOUNDATION scholarship.

PAY IT FORWARD

25% of a SANA FOUNDATION scholarship amount is given as a loan. Students repay this loan after completing their studies in support of scholarships for future students.

FUNDING & GOVERNANCE

Since 12 years, the SANA FOUNDATION is a registered non-profit organization that operates entirely with volunteers. With exception of minimal administrative and direct costs (less than 1%), 100% of all donations goes to scholarship funding. SANA FOUNDATION scholarships are funded entirely by private donations.
